Course Summary

This 30 minute online tutorial begins by introducing some basic principles in terms of the necessary preparation prior to a general anaesthetic; touching on the clinical parameters we monitor and how they can be monitored. This leads on to one of the most commonly available and used pieces of monitoring equipment – the pulse oximeter. The principles behind what it measures, how it works, it’s limitations and troubleshooting will be discussed.

Since graduating she has worked at Pride Veterinary Centre in the theatre department. Jess holds the senior referral theatre nurse position, and also runs the hospital list alongside this role. To accompany many years experience in anaesthesia and theatre practice, Jess has achieved the BSAVA merit award in anaesthesia and critical care and the improve international certificate in emergency and critical care.

Please note the following:
