Description

Course Summary

This 30 minute eCPD tutorial will, with the use of videos, discuss and demonstrate how to check anaesthetic machines and circuits prior to use and discuss the preparation of ancillary equipment.

Anaesthesia is often compared to flying an airplane with the most risky times being take-off and landing compared to induction and recovery in anaesthesia, so using this analogy, preparing for take-off, or equipment safety checks are an important but almost always overlooked part of anaesthesia. Good preparation and checking of equipment really can make the difference between life and death.
