Course Summary

This 40 minute eCPD tutorial will discuss the identification and management of cardiovascular emergencies, which may be encountered during anaesthesia, including bradycardia, tachycardia, arrhythmia, hypotension and hypoxaemia. The tutorial will work though each of these conditions in a logical manner, including recognition, identification and appropriate management.

Emma qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2001 and spent a further year in general practice before joining The Animal Health Trust in 2002. She gained the Diploma in Advanced Nursing (Surgical) in 2006 and later passed the Veterinary Technician Specialist in Anaesthesia exams (VTS Anaesthesia/Analgesia) and she is also a member of Academy of Veterinary Technician Anesthetists (AVTA). Emma currently works as a locum anaesthesia nurse at Cambridge Veterinary School, where her interests lie in anaesthesia, analgesia, critical care and teaching.
