Janette achieved her qualification as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) in 2001 and subsequently spent 15 years in mixed animal practice in Cumbria. Since 2013, she has held positions at referral hospitals, including roles as Lead Anaesthesia Nurse. During her career, Janette has earned a Certificate in Emergency & Critical Care and attained the Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) Anaesthesia and Analgesia. Currently, Janette is the Lead Anaesthesia Nurse at Bridge Referrals, where she leads the anaesthesia nursing team, supports professional development among nurses, and promotes increased confidence and expertise in anaesthesia throughout the nursing community. Janette maintains a particular interest in advancing her skills with ultrasound-guided regional nerve blocks and is dedicated to minimising fear, anxiety, and stress while enhancing the hospital experience for veterinary patients.
Upon purchase you will be immediately registered to attend this module, with unlimited lifetime access. The module will consist of two hours of CPD, in the form of a tutorial, a quiz and also a selection of further reading journals, articles or book chapters.
This module can be studied as a stand alone course, and a certificate of attendance for two hours of CPD will be provided once the module has been completed. Alternatively, this module can be combined with any other three modules to provide a bespoke Flexi course providing eight hours of CPD

All of our courses are aimed at veterinary nurses in general practice, but everyone who works in the veterinary profession is very welcome to attend, whether you are a clinical receptionist, veterinary surgeon, student nurse or have been a qualified nurse for over 20 years!
The courses are not formally assessed for skill level, so the following CPD levels are just a rough guide to help you decide if a course may be more or less suitable:
Introduction
– maybe most suitable for qualified nurses in general practice approaching a new topic or looking for a refresher course
Intermediate
– maybe most suitable for qualified nurses in general practice along with referral / specialist nurses looking for a refresher course
Advanced
– maybe most suitable for referral / specialist nurses and highly experienced qualified nurses in general practice
