With the ever increasing complexity and duration of surgical procedures, the window of opportunity for infection is also increasing. Antibiotic resistance is always a concern and can be potentially devastating and life threatening, so perioperative preparations are essential to minimise infection. This 30 minute eCPD tutorial discusses nursing preparation of the patient, surgeon and facilities in order to effectively run a clean and safe theatre to keep your surgical site infections to a minimum.
