Peri-Operative Feeding

This 60 minute eCPD tutorial discusses protocols for feeding prior to anaesthetics procedures, and why we instigate these. It discusses gastric emptying times and the effects of various types of diet. Post-operative feeding looks at feeding those cases that have undergone elective procedures and will only be hospitalised in the ward for the day, through to those that will be hospitalised for a period of time. The lecture looks at what to feed, when to feed and what quantity of foods to feed.
