Anaesthesia for Geriatric Patients

This 60 minute eCPD tutorial discusses the physiology and pharmacology of anaesthetic drugs relevant to old age, along with the monitoring, supportive care and recovery from anaesthesia in the geriatric patient. With improving standards of veterinary care, the number of geriatric patients requiring general anaesthesia is increasing. Whilst age itself is not a disease, geriatric animals have an increased morbidity risk and are likely to be suffering from concurrent illnesses.
